Sacred Tour to Ladakh & Kashmir

We will be meeting in Leh.

Non-stop flights are available from Delhi, Chandigarh, and Jammu.

It is important to rest on this day to allow your body to acclimatize to the higher altitude of Ladakh.

Hemis Monastery:

The Monastery was home to Naropa for some time. He was a great master in a long lineage of Tantra Masters; Tilopa / Naropa / Marpa and Milarepa.
 

Thiksey Monastery:

It is just on the outskirts of Leh. The monastery is similar in looks to the Potala Palace in Lhasa.

We will be visiting the 'Stupa of Peace'. It was conceived in the 1980’s by a Japanese Monk and was completed in 1991. It sits on a hill dominating the city with its beneficent presence.

You can visit the Marketplace and also enjoy lunch at a cafe/restaurant.

Journey to Nubra Valley:

The road to Nubra Valley offers a breathtaking experience with its scenic views of mountains, rivers, and valleys. Nubra Valley itself is a marvel, a remote and secret paradise.

Khardung La Pass:

This pass stands as one of the highest (Earlier it was the highest, now 2nd highest) motorable roads globally, reaching an estimated height of 18,379 ft, making the crossing an adventure in itself.

Nubra Valley:

Nestled at the base of the Karakoram Mountain range, Nubra Valley boasts a vast oases enveloped by arid mountains, creating a truly captivating landscape.

Diskit:

There is a 108 feet statue of Maitreya Buddha which was built in the 14th centurry, a major tourist attraction in Nubra Valley.

Hunder:

The landscape of Hunder is beautiful and famous for white sand dunes & double humped camel rides.
 

Camp Fire:

This night we can sing, dance and play music with a camp fire.

Panamik Hot Springs:

The Panamik hot water spring is located at an elevation of 10,442 feet. The spring water, rich in sulphur, is believed to be effective in treating rheumatism and other health issues.

Pangong Lake:

In Ladakh, nature always has a surprise for you. Pangong Lake, located at 4,350 meters, is the world’s highest saltwater lake. Its blue water contrasts with the dry mountains around it. The lake stretches over 160km, with one-third in India and two-thirds in China.

Pangong Lake, a famous spot in Leh Ladakh, gets its name from the Tibetan word "Pangong Tso," meaning "high grassland lake." You could spend hours here, mesmerized by its beauty. The lake also changes color, appearing blue, green, or red at different times. We are so happy to include Pangong Lake during our Tour – its beauty must be experienced in person.

Journey from Pangong Lake to Uleytokpo.

Magnetic Hill:

On the road leading to Uleytokpo / Lamayuru Monastery, you'll encounter Magnetic Hill, renowned for its gravitational anomaly that creates the illusion of a magnetic pull.

Moon Land:

Legend has it that the area was once the bed of a deep lake. Over time, the sands of this ancient lake have transformed, creating landscapes that resemble a moon-like terrain.

Lamayuru Monastery:

Lamayuru Monastery is renowned as one of Ladakh's most picturesque gompas. It sits perched on a mountain above the valley, along the main road that descends from Fotu La pass to Khalse. Believed to be the oldest monastery in central Ladakh.

Located approximately 127 km west of Leh, Lamayuru Monastery holds a significant place in Buddhist history. In the 11th century, it was where Tantric Mahasiddha Naropa and Milarepa, Indian and Tibetan Buddhist Masters, are said to have resided. The cave where they meditated still stands today, a testament to this spiritual legacy. The Kadampa School thrived here under the guidance of Rinchen Zangpo.
 

Alchi & Manjushree Monastery:

Alchi Monastery, constructed in the 12th century and abandoned in the 15th century, houses some of Ladakh's most remarkable murals. These ancient artworks offer a glimpse into the rich cultural and artistic heritage of the region.

The monastery complex features three main shrines: the Dukhang (Assembly hall), the Sumtsek, and the Temple of Manjushri, all constructed between the early 12th and early 13th centuries. Each shrine is a masterpiece of architecture and art, reflecting the spiritual and artistic excellence of the time.

Sonmarg will be our first stop on the journey from Leh to Kashmir. Located in the beautiful Jammu & Kashmir region, Sonmarg is famous for its stunning landscapes, natural beauty, and scenic meadows. It also marks the beginning of popular pilgrimage hiking trails like the Amarnath Cave and Thajiwas Glacier.

Tomb of Jesus:

The Roza Bal is a shrine situated in the Khanyar quarter of Srinagar, Kashmir, India. It remained largely unknown until 1899, when Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the founder of the Ahmadiyya movement, claimed that it was the tomb of Jesus.

Shiva Sutra Stone:

Shankarpal rock is where Acharya Vasugupta, a renowned scholar in Kashmir Shaivism, received the Shiva Sutras. Lord Shiva appeared to him in a dream, revealing the teachings.

Gulmarg:

Gulmarg has long attracted millions of tourists with its stunning views of the Himalayan Mountains. One of its main attractions is the Gulmarg Gondola, the highest cable car in the world.

Abhinav Gupta Cave:

Abhinav Gupta, a Great Tantra Master of 10th-century India, wrote the Tantraloka, an encyclopedia on Kashmir Shaivism, and authored 35 books. Known for his teachings on non-dual consciousness, his philosophy spread to South India. Legend says he and 1,200 disciples entered the Bairam Cave, reciting his devotional poem Bhairavastava, and were never seen again, believed to have passed into the spiritual world together.

Pahalgam is a popular hill station and tourist destination, known for its lush green meadows and pristine waters that attract thousands of visitors each year. It is also famous for being a key stop on the annual Amarnath Yatra pilgrimage.

Osho says -

"...Pahalgam is named after Jesus, because he used to call himself ‘the shepherd’ – Pahalgam means ‘the town of the shepherd’. So, it was a small colony of Jesus and his friends, surrounding the grave of their forefathers and the founder of the Judaic tradition."

Shikara Ride:

Shikaras are wooden boats that have been used for transportation and recreation on the lake for many years.

Taking a Shikara ride in Srinagar is a must-do experience, offering a peaceful journey across the calm waters of the famous Dal Lake.
